Cook Serve Forever, Announced

Cook, Serve, Delicious!, already has three games in the series and now Cook Serve Forever (maybe it should have been Cook Serve 4Ever?) is on the way for early 2023 with promises of local co-op through the campaign about a food-cart chef who wants to be a celebrity chef like their hero. It looks like Cook Serve Forever is continuing with similar gameplay of combining what the developer says are hundreds of new ingredients to make new recipes. Watch the video above for more on that.

I reached out to Vertigo Gaming and asked about Linux and an Apple Silicon native macOS port but Vertigo’s Production Manager Erik Johnson said anything other than Windows would have to wait for after Cook, Serve, Forever hits 1.0 some time early next year. Cook, Serve, Delicious!  & Cook Serve, Delicious! 2!! shipped for Linux & macOS, but Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! only released for Windows and macOS, it never got to Linux.

Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! is Out on Steam

Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! (that is the actual name of the game) was delayed but is now available for your restauranteering contentment. Or extreme frustration, you know, whichever emotion you feel when you have pressure on you to perform a series of cooking tasks. I love this kind of game, but as I wrote in my last post about it, I fear that my reflexes are too terrible to play this kind of game anymore.

The new version promises higher resolution graphics, local split-screen drop-in/drop-out co-op throughout the entirely new 60+ hour campaign. CSD! 2!! is also supposed to be more flexible in its difficulty, so maybe I could throw myself at it again.

If you would like to test your mettle, Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! is out on Windows, macOS, and Linux via Steam (as well as through the Humble store) for $13. A PlayStation 4 version is also in development.

“Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!!” Gets a Gameplay Trailer Before It Comes Out August 24th

Cook, Serve, Delicious! instantly lets me know that I’m old and can’t keep up with modern process-oriented games beyond Diner Dash. If you’re still young enough to keep up you can play the sequel on Steam for Windows on August 24th, although the game’s Steam page already has system requirements for Linux and macOS as well.
